Our helical milling control system was designed in conjunction with local company Cutting & Wear. It is used for cutting the helical flutes in the Integral Blade Stabilisers as shown the the photograph opposite. The stabilisers are used widely in the oil drilling industry.

The stabilisers can be anything from 125mm (5") to over 1 metre (36") in diameter. The control system accepts all the parameters to produce the finished profile, including:

  • Number of flutes.
  • Width of flute.
  • Required cover.
  • Length of blade.

The milling process is fully automated, and can store the parameters for up to 50 programs for instant recall at a future date.
