Background to pcb designsDuring the first years of Jubilee Electronics all our pcbs artworks were produced using crepe tapes and adhesive pads on an opaque carrier film, this was then taken to a local printer to have 1:1 photographs produced, these being sent on to the manufacturer of the pcb. |

More recent times:Our first CAD system was purchased in the 1988 - this
was a simple tool that allowed manual placement of the
track information on a PC and had the ability to output a
pen plot or files in Present day:Our current CAD system is a much more powerful tool. Input of information can be in NET list form or by drawing the schematic directly. Once the schematic is completed, translation to the PCB is automatic keeping net connectivity between the two. The artwork can then be routed automatically or manually - depending on the complexity, required layout, board shapes etc. the routing usually has an element of both. Drawing exchange files (.DXF often used by mechanical drawing packages) can be loaded into the CAD system to enable pcbs to be fitted in to unusually shaped enclosures etc. We also have the facility to load Gerber files provided by our customer if modification to an artwork produced elsewhere is needed |
